About
The Society was founded in February 1996 to be a forum for
biomechanists from all variety of disciplines, or areas of study, within
Australia and New Zealand, to meet and communicate. We are registered
society and our ABN is 80 205 005 217.
There are many areas in biomechanics including, for example, motor
control, cardiovascular and respiratory biomechanics, rehabilitation
biomechanics, sport biomechanics, bone and hard tissue biomechanics,
connective tissue biomechanics, orthopaedic biomechanics, and cellular
and molecular biomechanics, to name just some. We hope that ANZSB will
be a forum for all areas of biomechanics to exchange ideas and
experience.
Objectives
The main objectives of The ANZSB are to:
- Facilitate communication amongst those actively engaged in the scientific study and application of biomechanics.
- Provide a forum for those actively engaged in the scientific study and application of biomechanics to present their research.
- Promote the dissemination and application of information derived from the scientific study of biomechanical theory.
